I m a bit surprised by all the four and better star reviews for this volume I mean, sure, Dark Horse did a good job assembling the book, as always, but the quality of the content in this book is just dreadful. No, let s be fair, the artwork is mostly still very, very good John Severin draws a few too many and maybe can t give each story all the attention in needed, but the art is, overall, still very good But the stories this is the revamped Two Fisted Tales, after they gave up the war I m a bit surprised by all the four and better star reviews for this volume I mean, sure, Dark Horse did a good job assembling the book, as always, but the quality of the content in this book is just dreadful. No, let s be fair, the artwork is mostly still very, very good John Severin draws a few too many and maybe can t give each story all the attention in needed, but the art is, overall, still very good But the stories this is the revamped Two Fisted Tales, after they gave up the war comics focus and Kurtzman began giving most of his attention to Mad, letting other scripters mostly Colin Dawkins churn out the dull potboilers of Ruby Ed and the creepy as heck white men are our best allies Indian tales of Hawk of the Cheyenne, or the forgettable westerns of Black Jack Slaughter. There s nothing to read here The pictures are mighty pretty, but the stories are perhaps the worst of the entire EC era
