As someone who lived in Abu Dhabi for seven years I love this cookbook so so much There are many familiar faces in the book and it goes beyond being just a cookbook and tells the story of life in Abu Dhabi through food through the decades I can't wait to make some of the recipes and to curl back up with this book to read about the interesting people in the book I know the author Hanan and she did an amazing job capturing the spirit of the wonderful group of diverse people who have called Abu Dhabi home

This is an amazing book It is beautifully crafted and is as much about understanding Abu Dhabi the place and in a way entering it through the book Recently I spent a weekend making about 10 of the recipes for one meal and they were really delicious It was astounding that I and our guests all of whom have spent time in the Emirates all felt transported and that many of the recipes were so similar to things we’d tasted there In particular the Emirati Chicken the Manouri and Onion Tart and the pumpkin salad were really spectacular I now turn to the book when I want to make a journey albeit virtually and feel as if I’m returning to a familiar yet distant and wonderful place
