I liked how the book and its photographs made it look easy for the adults to explain to the kids what they are going to do and to understand how to help the kids get there I think that even adults might get some use out of this book as art is such a soothing endeavour for everyone involvedA great book as a Christmas gift as there are 52 projects to get through before next year’s gift giving time SMART

I was impressed with this book on many levels The 'Getting Started' unit by the author is inspiring and sets the scene for a volume filled with understanding and respecting children's developmental journey through self expression Here the author discusses art making materials and the effective art making spaceNext she moves on to 'Express Yourself' units on drawing printing printmaking mixed media and paper Each unit features eight to twelve projects for children to completeEach project or 'Lab' includes a materials list a 'What Do You Think?' introduction to the process stepped out photos of children working on the project and stepped out text instructions for the adult and learner to follow The photos are colorful and are close ups and I was pleased to see the genuine enthusiasm on the children artists' faces as they worked on their projectsMy favorite projects include Woven Eye Art Trophies Fold Me a Garden Stars in the Sky Tape Stencil T Shirt and the Block Printed T Shirt An interesting Gallery of Artists is included in the back matterHighly recommended for teachers caregivers youth groupscoutsummer camp and 4H leaders and adults who want to learn some basics about teaching art to childrenI borrowed this book from the New Book shelf in the children's section of the local public library##################

This book is filled with so many creative ideas for children I really enjoyed this book and all of the different art experiments and projects In this age of too much screen time this book is needed for so many families to help give kids the push to do so many things and expand their creativity I would recommend this book to any parent or educator looking to help their child or student have tactical fun with art

5 STARS This book was well done and a life saver this holiday season I had an absolute blast doing the projects in here with my friends kids I would love to teach a class using this if I could get in contact with someone who could give me permission it was so so well done

Once you get past the dense intro the projects are easily laid out with big color prints of results and process The book is organized by media which I like Contains some good projects that I an adult with an art degree like to do and would try though I don't know if that means it will be hard to get kids interested in them or that they have broad appeal

This book follows up on Art Lab for Kids and gives 52 projects to try Most of these projects you will find in other art books for younglings Overall not a bad book but have seen most elsewhere

Such a great book to artistically inspire toddlers to teens The author encourages freedom of expression from a young age utilizing various methods and mediums With an easily attainable list of supplies many already found in your home you can create a temporary space or a permanent art studio for your child's creations Plain English explanations means that everyone can understand the instructions while learning about different styles and techniues This book belongs in every home library for rainy days or any day that inspiration strikes

Art Lab for Kids Express Yourself shows you how to do a ton of different projects and techniues that kids can try out A great resource for parents and teachers as well it offers ideas and art starters to get kids thinking about putting feelings and emotions into their work no matter the age I definitely liked that they showed a large age range for the projects though I do worry that some people will assume a pictured child is the only age that can do that particular project Some do look difficult or messy and thus geared toward older kids but plenty of them will work for any age and with sufficient practice and assistance any of them are possible for even young kids
