I really enjoyed reading this book It gave a great history on the development of the Mass, bringing in the influence of the early Church up to today Since Denis Crouan is French, much of his writing relates to the situation in France With Pope Benedict s motu propio, Summorum Pontificumhaving been issued after this fine book, it is slightly outdated, but none the less worth reading.
